Floor, Night-Time Visitor, & An Oops

On Thursday, 6 August, the wood floor in the connecting hallway was redone. The wood slats had to be oriented 90° from what they were in order for the floor to lie flat. Also, some trim was placed around the bottom of the cabinets. There is still a little more work to do on both of these.
Monday, 17 August, the outdoor carpet for the observatory was installed. You can read about that on the “Road to Oracle Observatory” blog. On Tuesday, 18 August, the observatory became operational! Details on the blog.
On Sunday, 16 August, we had a night-time visitor. Mike opened the back door from his room and saw the tarantula seen at the top of this page. He was large, as seen in this photo with a ruler:

On Tuesday, 18 August, the custom bed for the guest bedroom was delivered:
Unfortunately, there were some oops. The headboard and night stands were too tall. And the platform for the mattress was too large for a queen-size mattress. It was taken back for some modifications. It will be brought back out to us when ready.
