Subject: Using SAC-IV on the Mac Sent: Friday, February 8, 2002 8:02:12 From: EBLINN@sbcglobal.net We have discussed this issue within the past week and you helped me in finding the drivers i need to use the SAC-IV on the Macintosh platform. Well, I downloaded the drivers from Logitech and 3com. Bill from SAC referred me to the Logitech website where I downloaded the new Quickcam software (which only worked when I upgraded to Mac OS 9.2.2), but when i load the software, it doesn't recognize that a camera is installed. However, the 3com drivers installed a video capture program called ViCAM or something like that...it works fine and dandy, but it only captures video... Now saying all that, my question is, what arrangement do you have set up and how do you set a TWAIN enviroment up so that the camera can work in Photoshop. I will take any suggestions you can offer. i want to be able to take image snapshots and control the exposures, etc..... Thanks, Ed Blinn Watauga, TXMike here: I never used Photoshop to capture. I used ReelEyes. There is a TWAIN MANAGER app that was included with ReelEyes. ReelEyes allowed exposure adjustments but still captured as a QuickTime movie.
Subject: SAC IV Macintosh Drivers Sent: Sunday, February 3, 2002 18:58:05 From: eblinn@sbcglobal.net (Ed Blinn) I recently inherited an SAC-IV CCD imager. I need to know where I can download the Macintosh drivers for the camera. If anyone knows, please email me at eblinn@sbcgloblal.net. Thanks, Ed Blinn Watauga, TexasMike here: I used the ReelEyes v1.1.1 software from http://www.irez.com/ when I first received the SAC IVb (see the Accessory Reviews - Showcase Products page).
And:
Will iMovie work? I think I need the Extensions file for my system folder in order for the camera to work on the Mac. What do you know about that?Mike here: Haven't tried iMovie to capture directly from the SAC.
And:
do i need system files for it...or is recognized by the Mac system?Mike here: I just ran their installer. It installs everything needed. There was a TWAIN driver, as I recall. This was under Mac OS 9.2.
