Subject: ETX90-EC Sent: Monday, October 3, 2005 16:10:30 From: Claude Morales (cmorales89@cox.net) We recently purchased the afore mentioned telescope and I need some help to decide if it is malfunctioning. When using the 2x barlow lens and a Super Plossol 9mm Meade eyepiece, how big should Mars look. I was looking at Mars the other nite and the best I could do was to make it appear about the size of a pencil eraser. This doesn't seem right. Any suggestions? Thanks, Claude Morales, Jr. A beginner stargazerMike here: That sounds right. Mars is pretty small after all. But you should be able to make out some surface markings and perhaps a polar cap.
Subject: Wanted ETX 90 "flip" mirror Sent: Saturday, October 1, 2005 14:53:01 From: Mike K (subaru@localnet.com) I am trying to locate a replacement "flip mirror for my ETX 90 EC. The coating on mine is starting to peal off, and it is out of warranty. I only need the mirror, not the entire assembly. If anyone has one, or know of a source that's not overpriced, please let me know. 1/10 wave or better is sought. Thanks MikeMike here: Try Telescope Warehouse; link on the Astronomy Links page.
