Posted: 22 November 2024
Cloudy skies returned on Thursday, 21 November 2024, but the sky was clear after sunset.
Open: Thursday, 21 November 2024, 1827 MST Temperature: 68°F |
Session: 2040 Conditions: Clear |
Equipment:
12" f/8 LX600 w/StarLock
2" 24mm UWA eyepiece
Focal reducer
Camera:
D850 DSLR
Prepared D850 DSLR for imaging.
1836 MST: LX600 ON, StarLock OFF, High Precision ON.
Mounted camera at prime focus + focus reducer, focused on Altair, locked the primary mirror, and slewed to the first imaging target.
1848 MST: StarLock ON.
Took the following StarLock autoguided images of Barnard Objects (dark nebulae), 30 seconds, ISO 6400. Pointing was a little off on several images. I hope to address that error on the next session. Thin clouds in much of the sky hampered imaging.
1934 MST: StarLock OFF.
Observed (or tried to) the following Barnard Objects, 102X: B195, B156, B157, B196, B364, B365, B158, B160, B159, B161, B199, B366, B162, B197, and B163.
Observed Saturn, then Jupiter, 102X.2028 MST: LX600 OFF.
Close: Thursday, 21 November 2024, 2039 MST Temperature: 55°F |
