Clear Sky and Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon)

Posted: 20 October 2025

Sunday evening, 19 October 2025, the sky was clear.

1830 MST: I began looking for Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) using 7x50 binoculars. As on past evenings, I used SkySafari 7 Pro on the iPhone 15 Pro Max to know where to look.

1836 MST: Tally Ho on the comet, 7x50 binoculars. The coma was clearly visible, but no tail was seen.

1857 MST: A faint tail was visible in 7x50 binoculars.

1905 MST: Ended the session.

Several times I thought I might have seen the comet naked eye but I could not convince myself that I did see it.

During the session I took these photographs using a tripod mounted D850 DSLR camera with 70-300mm lens and a handheld iPhone 15 Pro Max.

1853 MST: D850 DSLR (f/4.5, 6 seconds, ISO 5000, FL 70mm)
