iPhone Piggyback Astrophotography, Comet Lemmon

After opening the observatory I mounted the Vortex 12x50 binoculars piggyback on the 12" telescope using the ScopeStuff Camera Adapter. I then attached the iPhone 15 Pro Max with the LiDAR Cover to one of the eyepieces using the Accuview 3-Axis Adapter.

1715 MST: LX600 ON, StarLock OFF, High Precision OFF.

Took this iPhone 15 Pro Max afocal 12X image of the Moon in the 12x50 binoculars using NightCap Camera (ISO 64, 1/12000, 1X lens).

1738 MST: Sunset.

1823 MST: Wi-Fi ON.

Used SkySafari 7 Pro on the iPhone to GOTO Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon).

1827 MST: StarLock ON.

iPhone afocal 12X image of Comet Lemmon in the 12x50 binoculars, StarLock autoguided, NightCap Camera (Long Exposure, Light Boost, ISO 5000, 1sec, 1 minute, 1X lens).

Mounted the D850 DSLR camera at prime focus + focal reducer, focused on the star Arcturus, locked the 12" telescope primary mirror, and slewed back to Comet Lemmon.

Took this (cropped) image of Comet Lemmon (60 seconds, ISO 5000), StarLock autoguided.

1858 MST: Wi-Fi OFF.

Viewed Comet Lemmon, 102X. Then viewed Comet Lemmon in the 12x50 binoculars. The tail was about 3° long.

Viewed M31 (Andromeda Galaxy), 102X. Viewed the galaxy in the 12x50 binoculars.

Mounted the iPhone on the binoculars and took this StarLock autoguided afocal 12X image of M31 (Andromeda Galaxy) using the Camera app (Night Mode, 30 seconds, 1X lens). M32 and M110 galaxies are also visible in the image.

Realigned finderscopes.
