iPhone 15 Pro Max

Mounted the D850 DSLR camera at prime focus + focal reducer.

1813 MST: LX600 ON, StarLock OFF, High Precision OFF.

Slewed the 12" telescope to the Moon.

Took this D850 DSLR image of the Moon (1/320sec, ISO 200). Saturation was increased to bring out some colors on the surface of the Moon.

Focused on the star Vega and locked the 12" telescope primary mirror.

1823 MST: Wi-Fi ON.

Used SkySafari 7 Pro on the iPhone to GOTO Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon), low in the western sky.

1827 MST: Wi-Fi OFF, StarLock ON.

Did some framing test exposures of Comet Lemmon. Then took 10 images (10 seconds, ISO 5000), StarLock autoguided, at one minute intervals. This video shows the movement of the comet.

1849 MST: StarLock OFF.

1852 MST: Comet Lemmon was faintly visible, naked eye, in the moonlit sky. The view using 12x50 binoculars was nice with the tail about 2° long.

1858 MST: Viewed Comet Lemmon in the 12" telescope, 102X. Nice nucleus and tail details visible.

1901 MST: Stepped outside of the observatory and took this handheld iPhone 15 Pro Max photograph showing Comet Lemmon in the western sky.

Back in the observatory I observed Saturn, 102X.

1905 MST: LX600 OFF.
