Subject: How do I use the Meade EXT Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2008 12:51:39 From: Paul Marshall (pmarsh50@hotmail.com) I just purchased a Meade EXT telescope. I believe it is an old model as it does not have a suffix like AC or EC, just EXT. I'm brand new to astronomy and don't even know how to set it up. Is there an instruction manual out there? If so, where can I get one? Paul MarshallMike here: See the item "Q. Where do I find manuals online?" on the FAQ page on my ETX Site. Meade has the manual for the "ETX Astro Telescope" on their web site (linked from my ETX FAQ page).
Subject: etx90 Sent: Sunday, August 10, 2008 12:48:15 From: mark morris (mark.morris87@hotmail.co.uk) Hope you don't mind me asking a quickie. As a novice I like the ETX90 but people have said it won't be powerful enough to see anything other than the planets. Will I be able to see anything deep space wise with this scope (using barlow etc) as a casual user I like its portability and cost but want to be able to see things like the ring nebula (if even only faintly) Sorry to ask you direct but couldn,t find a specific answer to these questions on you great website. Best Wishes Mark Morris (UK)Mike here: As you can read from the many ETX-90 User Observations (on the Helpful Information: User Observations page as well as my SCAE 2008 presentation on the Helpful Information: Tutorials page, the ETX-90 can be used to see many DSOs. It can definitely be used for more than planets.
