Subject: Replacing lost DSI Auto Star CD Sent: Tuesday, February 19, 2008 20:41:11 From: David (dhs45@verizon.net) Can you tell me if there is a way to get a replacement CD for the Auto Star Suite for Deep Space Imager? I have the CD that came with my EXT125PE but it does not seem to support the DSI. My Deep Space imager box indicates the version I must use is the one marked for DSI. Not only did I have to replace my laptop and lost those files but now cant find the CD that came with the imager. I have looked at Meads site but found no information about getting a replacement. I tried contacting the Dealer in New Hampshire but they seemed to have gotten out of the Telescope business. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Regards, David Schilling Massachusetts USAMike here: The AutoStar Suite Astronomer Edition that comes with the telescope does not include imager support. You will need to contact Meade directly for a replacement CD.
Subject: Autostar Suite Astronomers Edition (software differences) Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2008 16:01:02 From: William (bhavens51@comcast.net) What is the difference between "Autostar Suite" and "Autostar Suite Astronomer's Edition"? I purchased the ETX 125PE recently, it came with the Astronomer's edition. I have noticed that the program's tool bar does not display the "Save currently opened image" and "Telescope Control panel" radio buttons. They are blank as if place holders. Will the "Astronomers Edition control the telescope? Please note that while I have been viewing on the occasional clear sky evenings I have not connected PC to the Autostar to date. Best regards, WilliamMike here: As far as I know (or recall) the full edition supports the Meade LPI and DSI imagers. The "Astronomer's Edition" does not. Both will control an AutoStar telescope.
