Subject: HNSKY, ASCOM, the ETX-90 Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 2003 16:19:33 From: grozea@comcast.net (Gene Rozea) Just wondering if the combination should play together. From what I've been able to find, it would appear that the answer is no. Can you confirm? Thanks, GeneMike here: I don't use either (since they are Windows).
Subject: I just baught a meade ds-2114atse with electronic eye piece Sent: Monday, August 4, 2003 21:04:14 From: BeeBooMoNsTeRbOo@aol.com I want to know if there is a program downloadable so instead of just plugging the telescope into a monitor, the program if any can upload the images live to my website almost like a webcam program for the telescope. If not how can I rigg this to have live broadcasting on my site ?Mike here: Any program that uploads images to the web will do this, doesn't have to be specific to telescope use. Search the web. I don't know of one offhand since I don't personally do this.
And:
Thanx, Do you own a telescope of this make? what do you think of the performance of it? I figured out how to do this I may not be able to load absolutely live images, I will do my work 1 hr in advance recording on a hi 8 recorder from the camera that came with the telescope, I than will use my software already built in to create the video for computer use, and upload them. I like the computer, I tried tricking it by asking to point to mars after it was under our horizon. it came back exactly where i knew it would be and yes below the horizon. I have yet to view mars with this but it looks like I will have allot of fun. thanx for your response.Mike here: Sorry, I don't have a DS model.
Subject: starrynight pro4 Sent: Friday, August 1, 2003 11:07:39 From: me@taffytubby.plus.com (O) I just hooked up :- Powerbook g3 400 running os x.2.6 to etx90 using autostar 495 on a ds 70 mount using keyspan adb-usb adapter and meade 506 cable and managed to control the scope very easily using starry night pro 4 My first impressions of the software are that it's impressive but as a long term sky user it seems a bit gimmicky. but it works on mac os x! next step... toucam pro to mac with ioxperts driver and btv viewer. stacking with keith's image stacker. await images. I love it.Mike here: I have not yet tried KIS 3.2.
