Subject: ETX-90RA and computer link From: "Alain Brun" (alain.brun@neuf.fr) Date: December 2, 2004 15:43:16 PST Thank for your great site. I would like to buy a ETX-90RA without autostar option (old scope version as I saw on your pages) for a low price (<130 USD) but I would like to know if it is possible to connect it to a computer to have a GOTO function or to connect a Autostar 497. Is it possible, with a low budget? if yes with wich type of material? Thanks for your support Alain BrunMike here: No, you can not connect an Autostar to the RA model. You could, with some effort, add a declination drive and a computer controller, possibly write your own software, and then you could control it. Alternatively, you can mount the ETX OTA on other Autostar (or other GOTO) capable mount. See the Telescope Tech Tips page for some ideas.
