Subject: ETX-90EC Sent: Monday, May 16, 2005 13:48:33 From: Stuart Shanker (sshanker4@hotmail.com) I've enjoyed reading the ETX site info. I have an RA model from 1996. It doesn't have any upgrades to a GOTO or Autostar capability. I have an opportunity to purchase an ETX-90EC new at a "reasonable" price of under $300. Are the features of the older EC upgradable to the current autostar version or would I be better off buying a new 90AT? Does anyone do an upgrade of the 90RA to an Autostar capability? Keep up the good work on the site. Thanks, StuartMike here: There is no upgrade from the original ETX model (now known as the ETX-90RA) to an Autostar compatible one. Yes, you could buy a base and forks from an EC (or AT) model and use the OTA from the ETX-90RA. If you purchase the EC model, all you need to purchase is an Autostar #497 (or a #495 which you can upgrade via software to a #497 via a #505 serial cable to your computer).
