Subject: re: stellarium Sent: Thursday, March 18, 2010 20:03:53 From: richard seymour (rseymour@wolfenet.com) Something that may have changed since the last time you loaded ASCOM, is that the -drivers- are now a separate download from the -platform-. So you need to install -3- things: Stellarium the ASCOM "platform" whichever drivers you want. Drivers are here: http://ascom-standards.org/Downloads/ScopeDrivers.htm and for the ETX family of scopes, you want the "Classic" driver: http://download.ascom-standards.org/drivers/MeadeClassic(5.0.3)Setup.exe (note that the above link is for a -specific- version... folks reading this in the future should go to the ASCOM site and get the latest version.) good luck --dick

From: David Waggonner (bryan_w78@yahoo.com) Richard Thank you very much. You are absolutely correct. That whole driver interface/platform is and was completely different. I had the original download on a thumb drive that worked with my system and was trying to get it to work from this. It worked originally and i assumed it would work again. After uninstalling everything and reinstalling from your links, i have gotten it to work again. Again thank you for all of your help. David Waggonner
Subject: stellarium Sent: Friday, March 12, 2010 23:42:54 From: David Waggonner (bryan_w78@yahoo.com) I once had my etx 90pe controlled by stellarium/ascom. My computer crashed and i can no longer get the damb thing to work. I have reloaded stellarium and ascom but am afraid i don't have the right drivers for the etx on ascom and cannot find the link on your site. I did once before but have spend about an hour trying to find it with no success. could you please help me out with finding this tutorial? much appreciated David b waggonnerMike here: I'm not certain what "tutorial" you might mean but have you tried searching the ETX Site for "Stellarium" or "ASCOM"? You will get some hits from those searches.
Subject: ETX125PE vs LightSwitch question Sent: Friday, March 12, 2010 07:59:18 From: Littell, Charles C Civ USAF AFMC 88 ABW/PA (Charles.Littell@WPAFB.AF.MIL) Do you know of anyone who is using an electronic EP and PC software to mimic the LightSwitch hands-free alignment? Seems like every electronic EP should come with the software included, don't you think? Of course, if I didn't have to pour through my almanac to find the alignment stars, I might never learn the constellations. Chas in Dayton Charles C. Littell, IIIMike here: Haven't heard of any software that exactly mimics the capabilities of Meade's LightSwitch technology.
