I'm just starting to read them now (and found a typo on the Intro page) have fun --dick
Subject: ETX LS Shipping Notice Sent: Thursday, May 28, 2009 11:22:30 From: jdjaster@comcast.net (jdjaster@comcast.net) I thought you'd like to know that I got an email last night re my pre-order for the ETX-LS. The email said my order is released for shipping. I pre-ordered this scope in late January, 2009. Take care, JimMike here: Looking forward to a report once you get it!
I'll keep you posted. Take my opinons though with a grain of salt. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest, I'd give myself a telescope/photography score of about 4. I'm hoping this product let's me "leap-frog" my lack of experience. I'd be of use though, from a novice's point of view. I'd think the LS series is targetted to people like me and that the arm/assembly looks over-engineered for a 6" ETX, thereby providing a possible upgrade to a larger tube. I hope I like it. I did buy quite a bit of stock in Meade as I mentioned before. Maybe I'll make enough on the stock to pay for the scope!!!! JimMike here: Just the person the ETX, and especially the ETX-LS, was designed for!
And more:
One final thing. Meade called me a couple of minutes ago to let me know the ETX LS would be shipped in a few days. With the email and phone call from them, this has to be LEGIT!!! Take care, Jim PS--I have done alot research about hooking up a telescope to my wireless network, so I can operate it while inside my house. I'll let you know how this adventure goes. Theoretically, I should be able to control the scope and camera remotely. It'd be alot more comfortable to be able to do this in the summer(mosquitoes), and winter(the cold). I know I'm wimping out, but what the heck!Mike here: Sleepless nights coming! Looking forward to hearing how the remote ETX-LS works out!
Subject: ETX-LS Feedback Sent: Wednesday, May 13, 2009 08:03:30 From: Chuck Nardo (cnardo@toyon.com) What is the latest release date from Meade on this equipment? Wasn't it suppose to be March...and then April,... and now it's ??? Also, will they "loan" you one to review so we can get your take on the equipment. The astronomy magazines depend upon Meade for advertising $$....and you don't owe anyone anything. We trust your evaluation(s) & judgment a lot more! Chuck Nardo Santa BarbaraMike here: The latest release "date" is "Spring 2009". Of course, Spring runs until 21 June. As to eval unit, don't know.
