Subject: Meade DS-114 Verticle gear slop Sent: Thursday, May 30, 2013 09:11:24 From: Vyceroy@aol.com (Vyceroy@aol.com) I purchased a used DS-114 with autostar from a goodwill store it had no lenses or adapter .. I had lenses from a telescope that my nephew was throwing out .. and for the power source i used some extra Lithium Ion batteries in a 3 cell series for my 13.8 volts .. Horizontal control on the telescope is fine .. but when i engage the verticle drive the motor turns a bit before the scope starts moving .. i can deal with this when manually looking .. but if trying to use the go to feature its nowhere near what you are looking for like Saturn or the Moon just as examples because i know where they are in the sky .. Any help would be appreciated Thank You Ron PinsonMike here: Have you done a CALIBRATE MOTOR and TRAIN DRIVES (on both axes)? If not, do those steps from the AutoStar.
