On Tuesday, 18 August, I did some cleaning inside the POD; there was some dust from when the concrete was drilled for the lag bolts.  I then moved the tripod and observing chair to the POD in order to check placement.  Once that was done I moved in some shelves, books, and some accessories.  Finally, just before sunset I moved the 8” telescope to the observatory.  It had “first light” in its new home that night.

This is the last update to my "Road to Oracle Observatory" blog.  Now that I have a permanent installation, Oracle Observatory no longer seems appropriate as a name.  Visit my new "Cassiopeia Observatory" web site, which is now where I'll be reporting on observations, astrophotography, and SkyShed POD items.
