Session: 2142 Conditions: Clear, breezy |

12" f/8 LX600 w/StarLock
2" 24mm UWA eyepiece
2" 9mm 100° eyepiece
Camera:
iPhone 15 Pro Max
1840 MST: LX600 ON, StarLock OFF, High Precision OFF.
Observed the planet Venus, 102X and 271X. Nice gibbous phase visible.
Observed the planet Jupiter, 271X.
1848 MST: Relaxed on the observatory patio bench.
1928 MST: Sunset. Saw a "green flash" as the last of the Sun disappeared behind a distant mountain. Calm now. Back in the observatory.
Observed Jupiter again, 271X. One Galilean Moon was visible in the bright twilight sky.
1932 MST: Observed the planet Mercury, 271X. Its gibbous phase was similar to the Venus phase.
1935 MST: Back to the bench to watch the stars come out.
2000 MST: Back inside the observatory.
2004 MST: Wi-Fi ON.
SYNCed the AutoStar to the star Arcturus. Then used SkySafari 7 Pro on the iPhone to GOTO to NGC5834 (globular cluster). I hoped to resume my Milky Way Globular Clusters Project. NGC5834 was not visible in the twilight sky.
2011 MST: Returned to the bench while waiting for the sky to get darker.
2022 MST: The southeastern sky (where NGC5934 was located) began getting brighter from the rising Moon, just past Full.
2023 MST: Back in the observatory. NGC5834 was not visible in the bright sky. Decided to wait for a future session to resume my globular clusters observing.
2030 MST: Wi-Fi OFF.
Went outside of the observatory and took this handheld iPhone 15 Pro Max photo of the western sky. The planets Jupiter and Venus are at the upper left.
2035 MST: LX600 OFF.
