I did not open the observatory Sunday night, 21 June 2026. Instead, I attended the Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass show in Tucson. I had last seen Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass in 1967, 59 years ago!

1837 MST: LX600 ON, StarLock OFF, High Precision OFF.

1839 MST: Viewed Jupiter, 102X. The planet was faintly visible in the bright blue sky.

Viewed Venus, 102X.

Viewed the Moon, 102X. Its phase was very similar to that of Venus.

1845 MST: Relaxed on the observatory patio bench.

1923 MST: Back in the observatory.

Viewed the Moon, 102X and 81X.

1926 MST: Took this handheld iPhone 15 Pro Max afocal 81X image of the Moon in the bright blue sky using the Camera app (1X lens).

1938 MST: Sunset.

Took a last look at the Moon, 102X.

1939 MST: LX600 OFF.

Close: Monday, 22 June 2026, 1947 MST Temperature: 88°F
