Saturday night, 29 August 2026, a strong thunderstorm was west of Oracle. Received no rain here from the storm but there was a lot of lightning. This is a merge of 18 photos taken with a D850 DSLR comera (f/5.6, 5 seconds, ISO 200, FL 24mm).

Early Sunday morning, 30 August, I woke up early to watch the launch of the Nancy Roman Space Telescope. After the successful launch I took some lightning photographs of a storm to the northwest of Oracle. When it started raining here I stopped taking photos. Rain total from this storm was 0.09". This is a merge of 3 photos taken with a D850 DSLR comera (f/5.6, 5 seconds, ISO 200, FL 24mm).

Before sunrise Monday, 31 August, another storm passed west of Oracle. Although the heaviest area of the rain according to radar was well west of Oracle, received 0.5" in 20 minutes, with a storm total of 0.71", and day total of 1.06".

And so ends my reports for August 2026, nearly two months since my last session in Cassiopeia Observatory on 2 July due to weather.
