Subject:	Baffle

I have read the posts and cautions re: baffle reattaching. I have an ETX
RA purchased around 1996. Meade will not work on the scope. I took the
scope to my local Meade dealer. He reset the baffle in the original tape
ring. (leaving a small scratch just outside the secondary). The baffle
is slipping to the side again and I want to fix it before it drops onto
the primary. Meade offered to replace the OTA for about $350 but I just
can't afford that. Are there any suggestions you have before I attempt
to replace it with epoxy as suggested on your website by Clay Sherrod?

With what should I clean the inside of the miniscus? He said alcohol
solution. What are the proportions?

Thanks four your help.

Mike here: See the articles "ETX-90RA Secondary Baffle Fix" and "Re-attaching the Baffle" on the Helpful Information: Telescope Tech Tips page. The info there is all that I have.
Thanks. I did check those articles. Thanks for your prompt reply. Your
website has been most helpful over the years.

Subject:	broken off arm on ETX-90RA

I was hoping you might know or could point me out where on the site this
might be located but I have a broken right arm on the ETX-90RA. It's
broken right where it screws into the base. I glued it several years
back and it held up, but it has come undone again and I'd like to repair
it in a better way. Was hoping to catch the transit next week.
Thanks in advance,
Mike here: You can check the Helpful Information: Telescope Tech Tips page but I don't recall an article that specifically covers reattaching an ETX-90 RA fork arm. Good luck.
