Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2012 11:10:36 From: Mike Shuter (email@example.com) Meade ETX 125 PE Electric Focuser I decided to design & build my own focuser as it appears that Meade don't make an electric focuser for their ETX125 telescope that has sales support in Europe. I also looked into the reliability of alternative devices and was not satisfied with the results. My design has the following features: - Max. Focus Screw Speed = 37 r.p.m Controller provides speed variation of 0 to max. in both directions. Joystick provides direction control with centre off position. Motor control shows no detectable over-run when switching to off position. Power for the focuser is a 9v. battery contained within the handset and accessed via a slide-off panel on underside. The focuser gives smooth & reliable operation with no OTA shake. Used with a CCD camera and a Bahtinov mask designed by Niels Noordhoek plus "Bahtinov Grabber", the focuser gives fast accurate focusing. For further information and supply please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks for a great site, I've read it from top to bottom and still keep re- reading. Regards Mike Shuter.
