Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon)

Posted: 1 November 2025

Friday evening, 31 October 2025, I went outside to do some photography of Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon).

1819 MST: Spotted the comet, 7x50 binoculars. The coma and a short tail were visible. As the twilight sky became darker, although the sky remained bright due to the Moon, the tail became more visible, reaching a length of about 3° in the binoculars. Although there were times when I thought I could could see the comet naked eye, I was never confident of the observation.

I took several photos using a tripod-mounted D850 DSLR with 70-300mm lens. I also took some handheld iPhone 15 Pro Max photos. Several satellites appear in some of the photos.
